This car parking sensor is unique in that it works by creating
a magnetic field and detecting objects heavier than itself in mass,
this is highly more efficient and effective than its' competitors
as the ultrasonic type sends out and receives an ultrasonic field
and not everything that enters this is detected, which could mean
disaster.
The small control unit on the Parking Dynamics PD1 car parking sensor
generates a magnetic field and transfers this to the transceiver
adhesive strip that is placed on the inner side of and runs
the full length of your bumper.
The magnetic strip then sends out an elliptical magnetic field
to cover the area around your bumper. The transceiver strip
works by sending and receiving unlike Ultra-sonic sensors that

How do I install the Parking Dynamics PD1 car parking sensor onto my car?

Mounting and installing the car parking sensor
on cars with a plastic bumper |

The Parking Dynamics PD1 is only compatible
with cars that have a plastic bumper and as 97% of cars have
plastic bumpers then you won't have a problem even if your
bumper appears part metal. If you are in any doubt contact
us
You install the car parking sensor unit on the inside of the
car where the reversing light is situated and you pass the antenna
wire from the unit through the hole with the gromet fitted (this
hole is now provided by vehilce manufacturers for their own
parking sensor) to connect to the antenna. In cases where it
is not possible to find a small hole, this must be drilled and
the wire passed through using a gromet.
Begin sticking the sensor antenna (the car parking sensors silver
self adhesive strip) onto the inside of the rear bumper (making
sure the bumper surface is clean before attaching) with the
connector nearest the antenna wire on the unit. When the full
bumper has the antenna attached the excess length is cut off.
It is important that the antenna is installed at the highest part from the ground that corresponds to the furthest distance from the vehicle body. Generally the best position of the sensor antenna is 50cm from ground level. However if this not practical the unit should be fitted as close to 50cm as possible.
Should the system be over sensitive it can be de-sensitized
by adjusting the screw in the top left hand corner of the car
parking sensor unit by ONE turn at a time, clockwise. Should
the system be under sensitive it can be sensitized by adjusting
the screw ONE turn at a time, anti-clockwise. But in 99% of
cases the detection sensitivity is perfect out of the box and
you can fit and forget. |

Having been in the motor trade for many years I have
experienced the installation of many component parts
for most vehicles as well as the installation of many
add-ons and upgrades.
I have fitted both the Ultra Sonic parking sensor type
as well as the Parking Dynamics PD1 electromagnetic type as described
